Scary Night!

So last night, or shall I say this morning was little scary. I feel like I handled my self quite well considering I am extremely emotional right now! Taylee's voice was a little horse before she went to bed, but she hasn't been sick or even any sign of a cold. Jared had to fly to Myrtle Beach last night (plane left at 12:00am, nice, huh?) so I stayed awake until he called to tell me they were taking off. Right after, Taylee came in my rooming crying and gasping for air. So I got her some water, got the humidfier going, and tried to get her to breathe a little better. That wasn't helping so at 1:30 am we bundled up and went and sat out on the front porch. That helped her breathe until we were so frozen we had to come in. So then I steamed up the bathroom and we hung out in there for awhile. That seemed to help and she was able to sleep for about 30 min. Then she woke up and her breathing was really bad. I tried the shower thing again, but she was crying and her little chest was sinking in with every breath she took. I started to get scared at this point. So at 4:30 am, Taylee and I headed for the emergency room, where she had a couple of breathing treatments and some steroids. They think she has croop. She is doing a little better today, but her breathing is still strained, they said it will get worse again tonight. If so we are just supposed to come on up to the emergency room again. I sure wish Jared was home for this. It was just so scary because she went to bed fine and woke up gasping for air. Hopefully she will be fine tonight. If you drive by in the middle of the night and see us hanging out outside, don't be to alarmed!

Oh my, that IS scary!! I'm so sorry, poor little Taylie. My kids have never had croop, but i've had lots of my friends say that is one of the scariest things your kids can get. And, of course, it always seems to happen when dad is out of town, at least that's how it goes 'round here! Good luck!

I'm SOO sorry! I've been through the same thing with Morgan. She got croup REALLY bad a few years ago...we ended up in the emergency room with her one night, too. After the breathing treatments & steroids she did MUCH better. She didn't ever have another "attack" like that scary night, THANK GOODNESS!! Hopefully you'll have the same luck. I'm sorry you're having to deal with it when your husband is out of town. Nathan was home & came with me to the hospital. I really feel for you having to deal with everything alone. I hope she's all better really soon!!

BTW--I'm sorry I didn't get to see you at my candle party. Heather is so great! I really appreciated all that she did for me. I haven't ever had a party like that before & she made it super easy & fun!

Heidi I think you handled yourself even better than well. She looked sad today. I hope tomorrow she will feel a lot better. Its not good to have spitfire Taylee down, it can make for a pretty boring, on second thought it could also make for a nice afternoon;) I just hope they figure out whats wrong and fix her.

I would have been freaking out! But that is someone that has no kids, I am sure that I would freak out over a lot of things. If there is anything that I can do to help out juse let me know. Seems to me like you handled that like a pro!!!!!!
