Taylee Update

Well that scary night got worse. After we got home from the ER, she did not really improve. The ER doc said she should be herself during the day, and then we might have another scary night. Well around 2:30 I had my neighbor Kym come over and look at Taylee, she thought I needed to take her into the Doctor. So I got her an appointment for 3:45 and they did a couple more breathing treatments and sent us home. Well a couple hours later she was getting even worse. So I was going to take her back to the Doctor, but they told me I needed to go admit her into the hospital. So now it is 7:30 pm and I start making plans to get us to the hospital. My mom got in the car to come up and my sister in law Heather came over until my mother in law could get over and wait for my mom. Heather had her husband come, and along with my neighbor, they gave her a blessing. Heather, bless her heart, came with me to the hospital and they immediatley gave her a breathing treatment that did not go well. By the time we got to the hospital her lips were blue and she was so pale. It took 5 of us to told Taylee down to get her to breathe in the treatment. The whole time she was screaming to get off her. It was probably the worst experience I have had, at least in a while. Then she had some xrays and then she needed another breathing treatment which went so much better. She sat up and held the mask on herself. That was the last treatment she had to have. The xrays showed that it was a severe case of croup and she will have to be watched carefully from now on with any respiratory illness. But she was able to get some sleep that night and we hung out the next day. We almost had to have another breathing treatment, which would have made us stay another night, but they gave her some more oral steroids and that eased her attack. She would like to go back, because they catered to her every need. When she gets better she is going to have a hard time adjusting! If it wasn't for my Mom, Heather, and Kym, I seriously could not have made it through. I was supposed to have a candle party last night, but Kym moved it to her house so I didn't have to call and explain to all those I invited. Which was huge, since she doesn't like to have parties! Her and Heather also showed up with delicious dinners. I was taken care of very well and I hope that someday I will be able to help someone like they all helped me. I just feel so grateful for all the help I recieved. It is hard to except help sometimes, but i appreciate so much.

Oh Heidi!! That is so scary!! I'm glad that you are surrounded by wonderful people that could help! What a scary experience. I'm glad that things have settled down.
I need to call Kym and get your number, I don't have it anymore since I lost my cell phone. Is it still a girl?!

Wow, that sounds so scary!! I'm glad she's doing better now...I can only imagine how awful that was! We've had quite the scary ER situations with Brooklyn (skull fracture--so scary!) and Emilee (flu and got so dehydrated she wouldn't respond!) so I can kind of relate. Regardless, it's always heart wrenching to see your kids that sick, not mention EXHAUSTING! (and your prego!) Get some zzz'z and take care of yourself too!

Heidi, I'm so sorry:( It's never fun when your kids are sick. especially when they have breathing problems. Brocks had to have breathing treatment a few time and he hates it! Hope she gets back to herself soon. Take care!
